I write from an island that faces the wild Southern Ocean, on land directly connected to three Nations, each with their own spiritual relationship and songlines—the Ngarrindjeri, Narungga, and Kaurna peoples.

I pay my deep respect to First Nations Elders and Leaders across the world—past, present, and future—and stand in solidarity with all First Nations peoples, wherever they are.
